The Calvary Chapel Mission School that is along the Robertsfield Highway has a very brief but unique and interesting history. The conception and origin of the school came as a result of a decision by the then leadership of the Calvary Chapel Monrovia Church to relocate the only Calvary Chapel Mission School in the Rehab Community to the ELWA Junction, coupled with the leadership’s decision to allow Pastor Daniel N. Harmon, Sr. and two leaders of the church to separately own and operate their individual Calvary Chapel Mission Schools in the country, with the ELWA Junction Calvary Chapel Mission School being the first to be owned and operated by the then senior pastor and board chairman of the church. Whatever was/were the motive (s) behind those decisions, only the Holy Spirit knows.
It was predicated upon those two decisions and attempts by the then leadership of the Calvary Chapel Monrovia Church that led the Holy Spirit to reveal to Pastor Harmon the need to retain and maintain a Calvary Chapel Mission School in the Rehab Community to give students of the community access to good quality and Christian education at the most affordable cost.
The vision was shared with and supported by five other creative and innovative men in persons of Bro. Bofor R. Toh, Elder Edward Wamah and Dea. Madoefar Johnson of the Calvary Chapel Ministry, and Bro. Joseph C. Barchue and Bro. Edmund M. Allen of the Faith Baptist and Effort Baptist Churches respectively.
Up to today’s date this Calvary Chapel Mission School along the Robertsfield Highway remains the only known Calvary Chapel Mission High School that is closely affiliating with the Calvary Chapel Monrovia Church in the country.
